These days, I like to collect lyric videos. My external hard drive has several christian and mainstream lyric videos stored upon it. All ripped with the click on a mouse button, with a browser addon.
I just love Lyric videos, don’t you? They offer you the ability to sing along to any beautiful song. Even if you’ve never heard the song before, thanks to the perfectly-timed lyrics passing by in the video you learn the words of the song with ease. It can come in handy when you need to learn a song real fast.
A lot of lyric videos aren’t necessarily made by big professionals. When you log onto Youtube and type out “lyrics to Linkin Park”, for example, the majority of results will be of videos made by fans. I considered making some of myself. Adding a few nice images into a slideshow isn’t difficult. My 7-year-old rabbit could do it. Just like back when I wanted to tape videoclips off MTV with my VCR; adding lyrics of your favorite song onto a screen needs perfect timing.
Some lyric videos are perfectly timed, but with hideous colors. Some are horribly timed, but have beautiful arsty backgrounds and fonts. And then, there are the beautifully crafted ones. Not made by a pro, but by a fan who just wanted to make something nice.
