Saturday at 6:00 in the morning, I dragged myself out of bed again and prepared myself for another weekend with dad and granny.
At 9.10 in the morning I wait for my train. The train station is usually rather quiet on Saturday mornings. Not even the pigeons are out. Or perhaps they are, but just prefered not to hang at the train station this time.
Finally my train arrives. Just then, my brother sends a text that he won’t be able to join the Coffee & Cookies Club gathering. Thankfully he sends it just in time, for otherwise I would’ve waited for him.
I board the train. It is an intercity and it will be hardly 15 minutes before arriving at my next stop. I love staring at the world outside the window. Seeing trees and lakes flash by.
Then the train stops at the next stop. There my dad waits with his car to head to granny’s house.
Granny was cheerful, cracked a few jokes. We looked at old pictures together while enjoying coffee and a cookie. And we also had dinner together. She ate well, like always. Then on Sunday we did it all over again.
It was good to spend time with her again. It was good spending time with dad again. The weekend goes by so fast. But it was good.
