Autumn Wind

The large tree in the front yard is dancing like it is made of elastic. Branches waving in the air like they just don’t care. Leaves swirling around colored red, orange and gold. A cold strong wind blows.

In the backyard, a bucket is being thrown back and forth. The birdseed behind the flowerbed remain unmoved and untouched. How strange…

Chills going straight to the bone. A clogged nose and a sore throat. Every muscle of my body hurts as I cough and cough. Turning to clichés like the healing power of a bowl of chicken noodle soup. An excuse to sit back and sip on hot tea with ginger, fresh mint and honey. Snuggling onto a pillow on the couch, wrapped in warm blankets and surrounded by crumpled tissues.

It’s that time of the year again. Time for that autumn wind.
