Days are becoming weeks since it happened. Time moves so fast. Getting used to the thought that Chester Bennington will never jump around on a stage is still rather strange. I find myself trying to accept it, trying to listen to music again. On some days it is easier to do than others.
This weekend he was buried in private with just family, friends and loved ones. All over the world, fans mourn the death of their fallen General in their own way. All over the world, fans are getting together to comfort one another, bring tribute to Bennington and celebrate the music we all love.
It’s sad but also heartwarming to know that so many people are trying to reach out to one another in these times. The LP family is even stronger than ever now. Together we can get through this!
Some find it more difficult to deal with than others. Some are still in tears now. We all mourn in our own way. There is nothing wrong with that. What is troublesome, is how I’ve read reports of a few LP soldiers who just couldn’t live with the loss of Chester. It’s sad when fans become so torn apart that they think ending their own lives is the only option. Please know, there’s always another way!
We’ve all gone through trials and tribulations in life. It can be heavy to face them day-to-day, fighting the demons head on and trying to stand strong afterwards. Know that there are people out there who care. There is a purpose to your existence. There is a Force stronger than you and I. You will get through this.
Don’t remain silent in your despair all by yourself. If you feel like you’re about to break or just need to be around people who understand, come to your LPU family at: forum.linkinpark.com and on other Social Media. We all care. You are not alone.
Together with a few of the regulars on the LP forum, a tribute slide was made to show support to Chester Bennington, his family, the band and everyone else who cares. If you’re curious, feel free to check it out right here in the video below.
May strength, hope and comfort be with all of you. May you be aware that you are loved, that you are not alone and that things will get better eventually. One day at a time, step by step.
