According to urbandictionary.com:
Have you ever met someone you could swear you have met before? Everything about the person seems to vaguely feel and sound familiar; Like you’ve actually known this person but you just don’t know from what. All you know is that you feel butterflies and the song of Sleeping Beauty on auto-repeat playing in the back of your mind.
You don’t want to give in to these strange old feelings. . Plus, there are maybe other important factors why you rather keep a healthy amount of distance; maybe because you work in the same company and you don’t find it professional to date a co-worker.
Meanwhile, you wonder whether that person feels the same way. If they also at least feel like you’ve met before.
A normal person would just ask them “Don’t I know you from somewhere?” But you are not a normal person. No, you are an awkward beyond awkward entity that thrives in making things more complicated than they need to be.
Besides, you don’t want to risk singing the first lines of that Sleeping Beauty song, now do you?
So you choose to observe from a safe distance. Because that’s what you do best. Observe in the stillness, while pretending to be this tough cookie with no feelings while keeping a smile so bright it makes even the angriest person melt. But no matter how hard you try to keep your distance and pretend like you don’t care, you feel jealous whenever they smile at someone else. How dare they smile at anyone else but you! Right?
You wonder whether they just don’t feel what you feel. But you that’s when you notice it. They acts different around you. You feel their gaze upon you from time to time. They stammer a bit whenever they try to talk to you and ask the silliest questions…
Maybe it’s your misguided little messed up mind, or maybe it’s reality. But you notice that; They get awkward and twitchy around you. Just like you get awkward and twitchy around them.
Days become weeks and weeks become months. It feels like you’re dancing around a magnet. Whenever you’re face to face with them, you twitch like a virgin touched for the very first time. Having small talk with this vaguely familiar person makes your heart rate work on overdrive. You don’t understand what is so wrong with you. But you actually know it already;
You’ve loved them before. Once upon a time. And now you’re face to face again…. What to do now?
Darned bastard, stop making me twitch….
I know I really, really shouldn’t… But great here we go….
I know you I’ve seen you once upon a dream
