Anyone remember Bitstrips? Bitstrips was an awesome web and mobile application that allowed users to create a cartoon of themselves and their friends. In 2007 some Canadian guy came up with this fabulous cartoon making site.
Their app was also available for Facebook users. Not much later a Bit-Emoji app was available. With it, one could start using their own cartoon character as an emoji for Whatsapp and the likes.
Seriously, it was the best free comic making site out there.
But then on July 8th, 2016 at 4 pm Bitstrips.com went offline. Devoted users of the website were only left with the links to their comics, messages, and characters. People had just over one days notice before the site shut down completely. This devastated so many users, who thrived on the site. The community had it’s ups and downs, but overall it was better than the rest. The site provided free comic making tools, never charging users for a service that was better than the ones that made you pay.
And now it’s gone. Which is a shame! We want Bitstrips back and if you feel the same way, you can help. Please sign this petition and help us get this wonderful website back online!
