What is up? Well I am still livin la vida broka right here in the land of tulips and wooden shoes. It is pretty cold here right now. Saw some snowflakes but there are no thick layers of snow covering the grounds in my area, though. Which is fine, it is cold enough as it is.
So uhm…. Where to begin…
Excuse me while I geek out… But, I am waiting with anticipation for the new episodes of The X Files! Just a few more days before they air here in my country too! I am looking forward to it. More reasons to never leave the house again. Because why would anyone want to leave the house? It is cold as frack right now.
Don’t know what The X Files are? How is that possible!? Fine, let me copy/paste some info off of Wikipedia and fill you in.
What is the X Files? Well, it was a show that started airing around 1993 filled with science fiction, romance, aliens, creepy monsters and other scary stuff. It was quite entertaining for pretty much the entire family. If you can stand blood & gore scenes, disfigured humans, alien abduction, autopsies and what-not that is. My parents thought The Critters was fit for 4-year-old to watch, so I watching The X Files was quite the picnic for me.
The series revolves around FBI special agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigating X-Files: marginalized, unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena. Mulder believes in the existence of aliens and the paranormal while Scully, a skeptic, is assigned to make scientific analyses of Mulder’s discoveries to debunk his work and thus return him to mainstream cases. They develop a close relationship, which begins as a platonic friendship, but becomes a romance by the end of the series.
As a child I enjoyed the Scifi-series very much and made sure to never miss a single episode. I went to see the movie when it came to a movie theater in my hometown. The staring FBI agents were just too awesome. Hot giggity giggity, how foxy was that Fox Mulder?! Dana Scully was the woman I looked up to, because of her strength, wisdom and her sarcasm. And pretty too! Yeah I loved that showed. Even had this exact poster on my wall:
I was just THRILLED to hear the news that they are giving the show another go. Even if it’s just 6 episodes. I am SO hoping for more episodes though. That would be awesome.
Did I mention I thought David Duchovny was hot? I think he was my first celebrity crush. Even before Backstreet Boys. I remember kids in school thinking I was quite the weirdo to swoon for a [at the time] 30-year-old actor. But… Darn you, David Duchovny and your awkward charming self… Just look at that… Darn…
Give me a second…
Ok. I’m ready to continue. Here goes…
New episodes will air in the USA on January 24th. Lucky bastards. There will be guest stars by various actors in it, like Joel McHale. I’m quite excited for that too, I liked his part in Community.
But… Here in the land of wooden shoes we will have to wait 4 more days before we get the chance to see the 1st episode of the brand new season air on Fox Channel. But, Fox Channel did treat us on the X Files movie this evening. A nice treat.. It was so nice, that I was going ape and scared passing neighbors during the opening tune.
Yeah… I have so much going on in my life right now…
On the bright side, it gives me time to binge-watch all the previous seasons and episodes from yesteryear. Because like I said, why the heck would anyone want to leave the house? It’s cold anyways.
The X Files is all over social media and has its own Youtube Channel too. Found this video of the inside story on the thrilling return of the show on their channel. Give it a spin, it’ll make you even more curious. It sure made me curious anyways. It’s filled with some nifty behind the scenes stuff with Chris Carter, David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and all the key players as they reveal secrets from the set and take you on the epic journey of bringing this classic series back to Fox.
Well… Now I really want to see it. I’ll go count down the days until I can watch this amazing show. And I best dig up those old X Files Seasons and prepare myself for binge-watching in the upcoming days.
But now I best go to bed.
