Daniel Fast, Day 21

Lurkers!

Today is Saturday. It was a nice sunny day outside with a bit of wind in the land of wooden shoes. And.. It is my LAST day of the Daniel Fast. I actually enjoyed myself during these 21 days of restricted diet based on Daniel’s diet. It was a challenge to stay away from my favorite foods and I’ve rediscovered tasty other foods that are actually now my favorites too.

Here is what I ate:

Breakfast: leftover mushroom guacamole wraps and a cup of water.

Lunch: steamed sweet orange and purple potatoes and steamed corn, and a glass of water.

Dinner: Oyster mushrooms with poksoy, garlic, onions and black sesame seeds. And a cup of water.

So I’m looking at the list of stuff that I ate throughout these 21 days; No meat, no salt, no yeast, no diary or eggs. And no wine. From all the stuff that I’ve kept myself restricted of during these 3 weeks, no wine and no coffee were the hardest.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANot eating meat is something I got used to rather quickly. Maybe it’s because I was a vegetarian before. I am considering to maybe cutting back on meat again as a lifestyle. Maybe not like, every day of the week. Maybe I will only eat chicken and other meats during the weekend, or something.

Not eating products with sugar or salt; I actually didn’t miss it. There are so many tasty nuts, fruits and vegetables out available.

The summer time is going on this weekend. And summer time means loads of tasty summer fruits. Oh I cannot wait to taste those. Yummy melons, pineapples, strawberries, Asian pears, papaya,  plums and so many other tasty fruits… OMG… I am drooling.

And OMG I tried purple sweet potato today and those are totally delicious. I am planning to make my own mochi with taro & purple sweet potato filling.  Found an easy recipe for it on youtube. Check it out here:

But I did miss my glass of wine. And my cup of coffee. I love coffee. Tomorrow I will have my first cup of coffee since 3 weeks and I might even have myself some wine tomorrow as well. I am looking forward to it.

These 3 weeks sure have brought me closer to myself and more importantly, brought my relationship with God in a new perspective. He is good, all the time. And all the time, He is good. I had all these Bible verses planned out that I wanted to read during the 21 days of Daniel Fasting. Bible verses that spoke of Daniel’s diet and about fasting in general. But since it is Holy Week and Easter is tomorrow, I ended up watching Passion of the Christ, read Bible verses about the Lord’s crucifixion [matthew 20] a lot during the past few days. And about doing good [1peter2:13].

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday. A day filled with lots of things to do. The day we christians celebrate that Jesus Christ lives. Haleluya what a wonderful day. Thank You Lord for loving us so much that You died and rose again. It gives me goosebumps I’m so excited to celebrate this day. Wowzers.

That will be all. Thank you for reading this stuff. And if you like this you migth also like my shirts, mugs and other awesome gear. You can find them right here at my Red Bubble Shop! Buy a nifty shirt and help raise money for the Feed The Hungry Fund. Thank you. God speed and good day to you!
