Monday

Hello lurking lurkers, how are you doing this Monday?

After an interesting weekend filled with church activities,  I am going to the northern parts of the land of windmills and tulips again.

Friday was band practice. Lots of dangdut on our setlist for the Sunday service, because it was our pastor’s birthday.

Saturday I attended an Indonesian club related to the church I am part of. I follow an Indonesian course there, to learn proper bahasa Indonesia. And there was also a meeting to discuss future plans. They want to celebrate Christmas on the 5th of December. The 5th of December is actually the date of another Dutch traditional activity: Sinterklaas. I am not a fan of this tradition so I for one am glad to be able to focus on a pre-Christmas party instead. And guess who will be the host of the celebration? Me!

Then on Sunday was church. The service was nice. Afterwards we celebrated the birthday of our pastor. The poor guy told me the other day that if it were up to him, he’d rather not throw a party. He was tired of all the birthday parties we had throughout the year.  Not that the parties are no fun. It always means that it’ll be a long day and someone has to clean up after…. But his wife insisted. It was fun though. Lots of food, music and dancing.

And now it is Monday. I am going back to see my dad and check up with his progress. It’s been a few weeks now since the eye surgery took place. His wife informed me that his doctor thought the healing process was slower than expected. Sure my dad isn’t the youngest patiënt but normally the recovery of such a treatment should improve within 2 weeks. Due to the fact that he is unable to quit smoking, however, the healing process is slowed down. The doctors hope my dad’s eye will be back to normal by new years.

I will have to miss my bunny for the next few days again 😦 She thankfully eats all by herself again. Hopefully it will stay this way.

I have to get out of the train. Have a good day. May God bless you and keep you.
