Weekends are way too short / Shoe shopping

Well. I signed up for LP Underground this morning. There’s a new collection of unreleased demos by the band coming out and I’m quite curious about the content. I believe there’s a contest right now for people who sign up for LP Underground to be able to win this CD with some goodies. I’m not really interested in the goodies, just want the music, man. Ach, I’ll see how it goes.

My poor Pink Elephant was so sad to find out it didn’t win the Indaba Remix contest, btw. But I fed it some peanut butter with honey and now it’s all jumpy again. Also, I comforted the gigantic Elephant in my room with the thought that we made the funniest remix of the contest and made a whole lot of people laugh, which is way more important than winning. The elephant is anxious to star in more remixes in the near future. I’ll of course try to keep you posted about the musical career of this uprising star and its gifted trunk. And no, you don’t have to be drunk or stoned to be able to get the clue. It would make it more easy-listing-ish if you did have some mind-altering substance at hand. But that’s something for later…

*yawn*

Gosh, why are weekends so short? At work, during lunch breaks my co-workers and I were wondering if we couldn’t have the weekends and work-days switched. Why not have 2 to 3 days of work and 5 to 4 days of weekend, with the same salary? Would improve the atmosphere, would motivate people to work harder because hell if it’s only for 2 or 3 days why not bust out in a ADHD phase and run around in circles for the boss’ entertainment?

Hmm… If only…

Anyway…

It’s friggin Sunday so I should at least enjoy the moment of not having to work for at least a 20 hours from now.

Yesterday this shoe-addict went shoe shopping. Decided to tag along my sis for back up. She helps me stay sane when I’m surrounded with all the choices in shoes I face. I’ve also decided to only shop when I know what I want to buy these days. And I was in need of a new pair of fake Allstars and some boots, that’s what I wanted to find in one store in a nice package deal.

Used to end up buying WAY too many shoes and that’s nice when you have a salary that stretches along with the shopping addiction. But my wallet is suffering from a chronicle lack of cash due to the cliché of the past decades; financial crisis is all around and it affected my wallet’s stretch ability! Wahoooo!

Anyway..

I take my time when I shop these days. Cause I could buy 1 pair of shoes for 50 bucks, or go hunting for an interesting discount and buy 2 pair of shoes for the same amount of money. Thankfully, I stumbled upon just the right offer. This one shop had just what I wanted; Buy one pair and get the second for free. My day couldn’t get any better once I found these cute fake winter proof Allstars and I had a hard time picking between these two boots;

Of course there were more boots to pick from, but these two seemed winter proof and after an 8 hour shift of running around in heavy shoes, walking in high heels isn’t really a treat for the feet. Otherwise, I’d go for this:

I just LOVE sneaker pumps XD

Or maybe these;

OMG, am totally fangirling over the black one XD

Or maybe even this;

Well, eventually I picked the one without heels (unless you consider 1cm a heel?). The one that seemed the most comfy to wear during day-to-day activities. I could always buy new shoes later on, maybe even wait for the shopping spree after Christmas. (They tend to throw with mayor discounts during those periods over here).

Satisfied, I went home with my new additions to my everlasting growing shoe collection. And I was so anxious to try my new shoes on with my current wardrobe hanging and laying about in my closets. But as soon as I got home, I discovered the boots were damaged!!

Don’t you just hate it when you buy something new and it ends up to be damaged? I am so going back to the store in a few minutes to get myself a different undamaged pair.

I was doubting about the boots, slightly. I usually go for high heels, these are flats. So it’s a MAYOR change for me to wear boots without heels… I might just go and get myself boots with high heels instead, since I’m going back to the store anyway. The ones with high heels sure look sassy. Crap, I hate all these addictions. But they make me feel so good!! *ugh*

All these ramblings about shoes. I better go.
