Well, it’s September already and eventhough we’ve had a few rainy evenings, the sun won’t hide itself just yet during the day. Hooray hooray 🙂
My week has been quite entertaining so far. Went to birthday of a friend’s kid last Saturday. She asked me to come over a little early because she needed help setting up her new internet connection. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to fix her connection at all that day… I felt quite bummed out about it, as did my friend.
We called the customer service of the provider and none of them could help. Some of them sounded like they had just been installed behind the phone for that day and others were just… Lame… Since I’ve worked as a customer service employee before I know a few things about the policy they handle on the phone and stuff.
For example, when you speak to someone from the sales departement it is not likely that any of the high tech info they tell you is legit. They just tell you what you want to hear, just as long as you buy the product.
Then there is a department that dangles in between the Sales and Mechanic department. The department that doesn’t know shit but is installed there behind the phone just for you to have someone to bitch and nag to. Now some of the boys and girls that work on this department really want to help, it’s just that they hardly have any skills or tools to actually be able to help you when it comes to a more high tech question… The main goal is to “keep the customer fooled while helping them out”. They come with basic sollutions instead. Like “reset the modem” or “buy a new ethernet cable from the quicky mart”.
But in the meantime my friend was sitting there with a so called new internet, without being able to go online at all. It’s not really a nice way to get to know a company when you order a product that doesn’t work and have no one at the customer service to give some form of back-up nor the ability to show empathy or social skills.
After 45 minutes of having almost the entire customer service departement on the phone I finally got a straight answer. There was no signal on the line… And with no signal on the line, I could stand on my head and still have no way to fix the internet connection. The customer service promised that the signal would be fixed by Wednesday…
After that we went on with the birthday of my friend’s kid. It was nice. Lots of kids running around and a home made cake, yummm.
Late in the afternoon, I went back to my hometown for yet another birthday party from another friend. My best friend was invited too, so we all met up together there at the party. We had some drinks, had some smokes and had some funky music on. It was quite entertaining.
I spend the night at my best friend’s house. We went to the beach. The weatherforcaster had claimed that it would be the last sunny day of the summer… But since when are weatherforcasters really right about any of that stuff?
Anyway…
The beach was fun. I didn’t go swimming, though. Dogs swim there too. I have nothing against dogs, but I rather not swim with them… But laying around in the sun is fun enough. Got to work on my tan a bit 🙂 After that we went back for some fries and I went home after my best friend’s kid went to bed.
The passed few days I’ve been trying to rearrange the furniture of my mom’s appartement. Things are going alright. She’s the type who can’t throw anything away. Makes it quite hard to keep the place nice and tidy, with all them little collectables laying about the house. But it’s finally getting somewhere.
Oh, my friend called to give me an update on her adventure with the internet provider.
I had been spamming twitter for a while about the provider in the meantime because I just think it’s ridiculous how they treat their new customers… Sure had some fun with that, tee-hee…
Anyway….
My friend said that she discovered there was another ISRA connecting spot in the house and that the wires all seemed to be cut up. That, along with no signal makes it quite difficult to fix an internet connection in any household. Apparently a mechanic will come by to try and fix the situation now. I really hope for her sake that it’s going to get fixed this time.
Yeah… I better go do something else now. Oh,. before I forget; I made a new episode for the Gatsie and such comic XD
