I’m trying to make a piñata with my best friend. Her kid’s birthday is in just a few weeks from now. The piñata was at first intended for a different party. She wanted to surprise her boyfriend with some crazy hoola girl with green hair. Most of the body parts are somewhat ready. There’s a torso with boobies almost ready to be painted and stuffed. We still need to stick a head and arms on it and give the body a dress so that it’ll become some princess piñata, suitable for a nice girly b-day party.
Yesterday her kid was playing outside because of the nice weather and such. So we had plenty of time to work on our project, so we thought at least. But then the kid came in, because she wanted some ice cream… And she saw us sitting with a bucket of glue, old newspapers and the strange looking round objects we had produced so far.
“What are you doing?” the kid asked, a little confused. We didn’t want to spoil the surprise for the kid, so I responded; “Well… These crazy adults don’t know how to grow up. Playing outside with you with dolls or whatever would worry the neighbors. So we play with glue instead.” My best friend cracked up, the kid just looked at us and sighed; “I am surrounded with crazy people.” That’s when my best friend said; “It’s in your genes, better get used to it.” Then the kid did a crazy dance and left to play outside again… Ah, mad fun it was.
There’s still lots to be done for the piñata to actually look the way we’d like it to.
Today we unfortunately had no time to work on the piñata. Another friend with her kids and my best friend’s boyfriend were over. So it was a full house again. It was fun though. The kids playing outside with a watergun and a kids skateboard, us adults trying to catch some sunshine on the balcony. Yeah, I love the sun.
My best friend’s kid and the kid of the neighbors had a watergun to play with. The kids of my other friend didn’t have a watergun with them. I thought it was quite sad that those poor kids got sprayed on the entire time without having the ability to defend themselves. So I made them a few waterbombs xD. Just some cheap plastic bags filled with water; they LOVED it. Were soaking wet, of course. But hey, it’s sunny so what the hell, right?
Tried to work on the piñata today for a bit… We didn’t got that far along though…
We’ve made a piñata before; of a boat. It was for my best friend’s kid too, when she turned 5. All the kids at the party thought the boat looked so nice. They liked it so much that none of them actually dared to smash it up with the stick. We ended up having to cut the boat open ourselves for the candy to come out…
Really hope the kids are willing to smash up the princess piñata we are making now. I mean; what’s the use in making a piñata that isn’t going to get smashed? Hmm….
Well, tomorrow’s another day. Hopefully we’ll get to work on the piñata some more. We’ll see…
