My boyfriend, the surpriser

My boyfriend is very good at surprising. It is always very unexpected and very unpredictable. He knows how to build up suspense. And I know how to act as if I’m surprised. It’s a nice little act in all good fun.

Yesterday, my boyfriend bought me chocolates in a heartshaped box. He bought it while we were shopping for groceries together. “Oh look, this is for you! Please act surprised when I give this to you when we get home” he said, when he took it from the rack and put the box in our shopping cart.

Two days ago at the gas station, he surprised me with a stuffed animal. We have 5 stuffed animals from that same gas station now. So thoughtful and unexpected it is, each time he brings me a new stuffed animal from the gas station.

Last week he said; “I have a surprise for you. It’s a Funko Pop from your wishlist and it will be delivered in a few days.” Oh the suspense was killing me. But then, sure enough the box got delivered. I waited until my boyfriend got home from work to open it. “Why haven’t you opened it yet? It’s for you” he said. I open te box and there is the Funko Pop. “A Funko Pop? For me? Oh wow! You shouldn’t have!” I said. What a lovely surprise!

Wait for it…

We met online, like most modern couples do these days. There are so many colorful people online and some tend to be a complete different person when you meet them offline. I was very cautious at first and didn’t want to rush into things. So first we just chatted on social media and then moved to phonecalls and facetiming for a few months. Then finally, it was time to meet face to face.

We had our first date on the 14th of august, two years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a sunny day and we met up at a trainstation. Of course, the trains were out of order that day. I had to take the bus instead. I was sweaty and nervous. Thats when I saw him, standing tall with a nervous smile and big bright eyes that light up a room. Adorbs! Everything seemed to go in slowmotion as I walked up towards him. We had a drink and then went to see a movie. Afterwards a nice long walk through the city, just talking. Since then we were glued to the hip.

A few weeks ago, I ordered something special for the occassion. Accidently, I had left the delivery box on the table and my boyfriend noticed it when he got home from work. “What’s in the box?” he asked. “Wait for it…” I said, as I took the box and hid it somewhere.

He will get to open his surprise soon. I hope he will find it legendary.
