A full Saturday/ The perfect outfit?

So my Saturday was FULL. I’ve been to Deventer with my mom. They have the Dickens Fest there, it’s a Christmas market in 19th century style (In the style of Charles Dickens Oliver Twist and the likes).

Deventer on it’s own is an interesting town to visit, with the historical buildings and what-not. During this Dickens Fest, things get more interesting; They have all these people dressed up in clothes they wore in the 19th century.  There are guys that ride around on these crazy big wheel bicycles and stands with candy they sold back then. It was quite interesting. It was amazing! I sure had fun. I made pictures of the dressed-up people.

Just look at ‘m!

Then there was also this party at work on Saturday night. They had a theme too; “Glitter and Glamour”. At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go, cause parties at work usually tend to either be boring or very very bad (in the sense that people get drunk and do stuff they hope not to see back on youtube later). But a co-worker convinced me. “No buts, missy! I’ll pick you up tonight, you better  glam up for the party!” she said. Well…. how could I refuse when she says it like that, huh?

shirt-elmoSo, aside from going to Deventer for the Dickens Fest, I also had to find myself an outfit I could wear later that evening. Didn’t want to overdo things, wanted something a lil simple and a whole lot crazy. After struggling through overcrowded clothing stores, (seriously, it felt like being in a traffic-jam) I managed to find myself a nice tuxedo at this new store (I love business wear, I love suits… I own way too many of ‘m already). Later on I found this cute glitter t-shirt with Elmo on it at H&M. I fell in love with the shirt and it had glitter on it so I figured; BINGO! Aint nothing more glam than Elmo, man! But I still needed a finishing touch… So..

At home I dug up some jewelry to match up to the “Glitter & Glamour” theme some more.  And what did I find, aside from my silver necklace with a bling-bling cross? My good old spiked collar! Used to wear that thing ALL the time. And the spikes do glisten in the disco light, so… Of course, I had to put them on too. Ah, those spikes bring back memories… *grins wickedly* They just make any outfit a lil more interesting.

So… My co-worker picked me up as promised. Now she was all glamoured up! A glitter dress, studded stiletto’s and make up. She looked hot! When she saw me in my suit all she did was frown, but couldn’t help but laugh when she saw my spiked collar. I guess I was the only female at the party not showing any leg or cleavage. Good for me, huh? But despite all of that… I still misbehaved.

The rest of the night was complete… Craziness. There were free drinks. There was a DJ and this guy who played any random hit by keyboard; he was actually quite good.

My problem is, though… When they play music I like, I can’t stop dancing. XD That’s not really bad, I guess. But my roots come boiling up when they play stuff like dancehall music… For some reason, I don’t know how to dance to that stuff other than the booty shaking you see them girls do in any of Sean Paul’s videos. That, along with a limitless amount of free wine, is a dangerous combination.

My best friend felt quite bad for the guys at work. Cause when the breaks are off, there’s no telling who I victimize on the dance floor XD Male and female alike are not safe once this energized Duracell bunny gets her booty shaking on. Yep.

So I ended up humping the floor in my Elmo t-shirt and my spiked collar. I managed to get everyone on the dancefloor, even the silent grumpy guys who usually tend to sit and drink in the corner. I made the assistant manager do the Gangnam Style dance, had a bump n grind moment with Wow-man on the dance floor and had together a GREAT time misbehaving myself badly at the christmas party.

As I sit here with my hangover and a black cup of coffee, reflecting on how the night went…. I think I am most glad about the fact that Monday I have a day off. Cause uhm… My butt hurts. And I don’t really feel like facing Wow-man or the other guys at work just yet…

But I have other things to worry about already. Because it’s friggin Sunday! And that means it’s time for some more SHOPPING!

A few friends will be over in about 2 hours and I still need to get that “no-I-aint-drunk-anymore” look off my face. I also need to prepare stuff for the old fashion Dutch braising steak I will serve for my friends later today (the meat takes 3 hours to simmer).

I guess it’s time for the shower…
