Passenger – I hate

So, I stumbled upon this guy (Passenger) after reading an article in a national newspaper during lunchbreak at work. His story was just interesting, his views on making music on the corners of the streets and not having the desire to be mainstream. Yet his song “Let her go” has reached a high spot in the charts here in Holland at the moment.

And so I checked his stuff out on Spotify today. Maybe it’s because it’s becoming colder and windier, maybe it’s because the leaves have turned orange; but his latest album, All The Little Lights, sure fits in the autumn meets winter vibe. I love it, haven’t skipped through one single song of the album at all.

He somehow reminds me of… Shawn McDonald? I do have a soft spot for Shawn McDonald’s vocals. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen this guy perform on an unplugged session and was amazed by the warmth and peacefulness this man had about himself during his entire performance. He’s awesome.

And I guess Passenger is yet another artist to add to my eclectic audio addiction. I’m sure to listen to his All The Little Lights more often the following days, maybe even years.

Especially this one specific song caught my attention. The song made me curious to see this guy perform live. What an interesting show that would be. Unfortunately his show in Amsterdam’s Paradiso is already sold out, though.

Oh well. I’ll just share my fave song of his at the moment;
